We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer - Offshore to join our team of engineers in Shanghai, China and be part of the ABL Group. 

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Engineer - Offshoreyou will oversee a team of engineers and be responsible for the planning, verification and execution of projects. In addition, you will:

  • Assist with preparation of proposals for bids and tender inputs. Developing new business including initiating and winning proposals.
  • Supervise (prepare) as required and assist with Engineering design, calculations and analysis for designs of various Engineering elements pertaining to the project in accordance with international codes and standards.
  • Assist and/or lead projects (as assigned by the manager) to accomplish the overall delivery of optimum solutions to customers within the timeframe, costs and quality standards established by the company and/or the Client
  • Perform concept and detailed analysis 
  • Attend regular internal meetings and external / third party meetings as required.
  • Maintain responsibility for Engineering integrity, prepare working forecasts, identifying change management plans, and corrective action as well as real time schedules.
  • Ensure all deliverables carried out in accordance with the companies policies and procedures.
  • Assist (as assigned by the manager or project lead) to accomplish the overall delivery of optimum solutions to customers within the timeframe, costs and quality standards established by ABL and/or the Client.
  • Day to day running of Marine Warranty projects, ensuring schedules and budgets are met as applicable;
  • Assist in document review, ensuring Marine Warranty project met the specifications/codes requirement.
  • Participate in reviews and audits. 
  • Liaise with clients to ensure project completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide training, mentoring and motivation to subordinates
  • And other duties as assigned
  • You are responsible and accountable for the Quality & HSE aspects within your region/department and projects; shall promote QHSE-related activities within all operations and ensure compliance to all applicable company QHSE policies, procedures, work systems and regulations 

The role is primarily office-based, but requirement for onsite attendance and time with clients and the ability to work remotely as required, with flexibility in working hours. The candidate should have the right to live and work in Shanghai, China.

  • Degree qualification in Engineering or equivalent with significant related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in English and  Mandarin is mandatory.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and codes, and the ability to apply standards.
  • Capable of Senior Management responsibilities with limited direction or Line Director supervision.
  • Accustomed to leading a team in the execution of projects to a high standard on time and on budget.
  • Strong people and project management skills.
  • Able to build strong commercial relationships with clients.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.
  • Results orientated and client focused.
  • Proactive and ability to show initiative in problem solving.
  • Influential with business and people acumen.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
