The Country Lead will play a key role in helping to grow and establish our ABL business line in Poland and across the Baltic region. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Oil and Gas and Renewables projects for our clients. This is a dual role, and you will be required to undertake some chargeable work. 

What will you be doing?

• Hold responsibility for the day-to-day of ABL Poland projects and ensure that schedules and budgets are met.
• Maintain oversight and understanding of ABL Poland projects.
• Maintain and develop new and existing clients by optimizing quality of service and client satisfaction.
• Prepare tenders and proposals and support the local & regional management team in growing all business line offerings.
• Provide motivational leadership for all operational / technical and administrative functions.
• Champion and encourage intra-office working practices to improve business performance.
• Manage operating costs to maximize profitability and provide relevant reports as required by management.
• Maintain budgets and financial control, including timely reporting of hours, revenue and forecasting. 
• Ensure all operations, deliverables and quality of reports are in accordance with approved instructions, and ABL procedures and policies.
• Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with relevant laws and ABL Group’s standards and policies, including our QHSE policies.

What are we looking for?

We are ideally seeking an entrepreneurial and ambitious individual with the drive to grow and develop a business. A strong character fit will be essential for this role. The position also involves undertaking chargeable work, so your background and experience must be directly relevant to our business area. You may be a Master Mariner (STCW II/2), Chief Engineer (STCW III/2), or have an engineering background aligned with our services — such as naval architecture or offshore or subsea engineering. Specifically, we are looking for:

• At least 8 years’ worth of relevant professional experience within the O&G or Renewables offshore or subsea sectors. 
• Experience of developing and executing business plans and managing relevant engineering projects. 
• Exposure to pilotage, vessel inspections and / or marine warranty surveys (MWS) is desirable. 
• Experience of holding an operations management position within a marine and engineering consultancy business is beneficial. 
• Fluent in English and Polish. 

Further Information:

This position will be based at our office in Gdansk, Poland.

You must have the right to live and work in Poland. 

You will be required to undertake client visits, offshore or onshore, at short notice.
