The Regional Energy Director will oversee and coordinate our Energy operations across the Americas, ensuring smooth execution of services, high performance, and maximum profitability. You’ll work closely with the Regional Managing Director to lead day-to-day management of ABL services across the region, while also driving strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and delivery across multiple markets. The initial focus will be on maintaining and growing our business in North America with a later focus on other countries in the region. You will also be expected to spend 40% of your time working on chargeable assignments.
What will you be doing?
- Collaborate with the Regional Managing Director to develop and implement short- and long-term strategic plans that drive regional growth.
- Take full ownership of the region’s growth strategy, working with internal teams to monitor, evaluate, and deliver results.
- Manage the P&L for assigned services, including budgeting, forecasting, and maintaining financial control.
- Lead intensive business development efforts by building strategic partnerships and expanding into new markets.
- Support identification, analysis, and execution of organic and inorganic growth opportunities (including M&A).
- Monitor client satisfaction to ensure service excellence and encourage repeat business.
- Represent the region at industry and networking events to strengthen brand visibility and market positioning.
- Collaborate with Country Managers, Business Line Managers, and other senior staff to understand existing services and contribute to client-facing business development activities.
- Research market trends and work with Country Managers to align BD strategies and optimize project delivery.
- Oversee and support business line leads in driving innovation and seizing new commercial opportunities.
- Identify and mitigate risks in partnership with country and business line managers, ensuring visibility of key performance indicators and operational challenges.
- Maximize revenue through cross-selling opportunities across the region’s full range of services.
- Promote a "One Team" culture through enhanced collaboration across countries and services, encouraging shared tools and cross-utilization.
- Drive continuous improvement of operational processes, ensuring alignment with HSEQ and company standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, project manager, engineer, or director across a variety of technical projects.
- Participate in and support the creation of technical task forces for innovation and service development.
- Attend offshore missions or site visits as needed.
- Support Country Managers in recruitment planning, workload strategy, and workforce development.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a Master Mariner, Chief Engineer, or qualified Engineer with a strong track record in the offshore or marine consultancy sector. More specifically, we are looking for the following:
- A minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in the Offshore/Energy industry, including at least 5 years in a management role within marine or engineering consultancy.
- Proven experience within an engineering consultancy, particularly in offshore, subsea, or maritime projects.
- A history of successfully executing mid- to large-scale business plans and project development initiatives.
- Expertise in Marine Warranty Surveying (MWS) or Owner’s Engineering (OE).
- Strong capabilities in reviewing technical documentation and assessing complex offshore challenges.
- Full familiarity with consultancy services across offshore energy, renewables, and maritime sectors.
- A valid BOSIET/GWO certification or SOMWS membership is considered an advantage.

This position will be based at our office in Houston. You must have the right to live and work in the United States.
The job holder will be expected to travel to site and undertake client assignments at short notice.
