The Senior Engineer will undertake a varied range of offshore Transport and Installation (T&I) and Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) engineering projects with a focus on renewables and offshore wind. This role encompasses responsibilities as an Owner’s Engineer and MWS for load-out, transportation, and installation of various offshore structures, including export and inter-array cables, wind turbines, subsea structures, and project cargoes.
What will you be doing?
- Undertake, lead and perform concept and detailed design analysis of various fixed / floating offshore structures.
- Plan & execute MWS and engineering work scope including deliverables and schedule manpower resources.
- Oversee MWS and Engineering work progress and deliverables for assigned projects.
- Supervise or prepare engineering design calculations and analysis for designs pertaining to the project in accordance with international codes and standards.
- Undertake, or lead assigned engineers and drafting personnel, to complete projects as per planned schedule.
- Contribute to business development by assisting with the preparation of proposals for bids and tender inputs.
- Attend regular internal meetings and external or third-party meetings as required.
- Ensure all engineering deliverables is carried out in accordance with ABL policies and procedures.
- Participate in design reviews, audits and engineering related reviews. Evaluate and prepare concept selection reports and basis for design.
- Liaise with clients to ensure project completion and customer satisfaction.
- Provide training, mentoring and motivation to subordinates and provide training to personnel new to Engineering related analyses and design.
- Maintain responsibility for, and promote, QHSE related activities within all operations and ensure compliance to all applicable company QHSE policies, procedures, work systems and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
What are we looking for?
Ideally, we are looking for an experienced Transport & Installation Engineer with a proven track record of working on offshore projects such as the installation of cables, wind turbines, foundation, jackets, topsides, or subsea structures. You will be comfortable working in a client-facing position and possess proven project management skills. More specifically, we are looking for the following:
- Educated to degree level in Naval Architecture, Structural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the offshore industry, with a focus on T&I.
- Extensive experience in engineering analysis and design for offshore fixed and floating structures.
- Up-to-date knowledge of load-out, installation, and transportation methods, codes of practice, and guidelines.
- Proficient in engineering analysis and design software related to offshore / structural engineering
- Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage.
Further Information:
This position will be based at our office in Hamburg. You must have the legal right to live and work in Germany.
The job holder will be required to attend onshore and offshore site visits for our clients.
