We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer / Senior Consultant to join our OWC team in Seoul, South Korea. This role involves leading renewable energy projects, providing technical advisory and due diligence, and collaborating with global, cross-functional teams. As a key contributor, you’ll help position OWC as a trusted advisor while driving our ambitious growth in the renewables sector.

What will you be doing?

The responsibilities in this role includes a wide range of tasks, but are not limited to:

  • Provide specialist advisory services and strategic guidance to clients on renewable energy projects, delivering within established timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Lead, plan, manage and execute consulting engagements across the full project lifecycle to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Advise across wide ranging matters related to offshore wind, such as project development, feasibility study, pre-FEED, FEED, procurement, construction, operation, etc. 
  • Define employers’ requirements and other technical specifications, conduct reviews as part of a due diligence assignment, lead work packages, advise on early-stage development topics, project development and realization phases.
  • Lead research and development projects, which may involve creating innovative engineering tools and solutions.
  • Maintain relevant deep domain expertise and stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Provide technical support and leadership to technical teams, assist in specialist domains and verification of deliverables to ensure quality.
  • Supervise, coach and develop team members on projects and through separate mentoring.
  • Apply suitable management skills as required, such as effective communication, engagement, motivation, and delegation.
  • Build and nurture client relationships, support new business opportunities, leverage networks and convert leads into contracts.
  • Lead preparation of proposals aligned to business objectives, maintain CRM data.
  • Share knowledge and experience to elevate OWC's consultancy capabilities, through internal/external training, thought leadership, etc.
  • Support OWC to achieve business KPIs such as revenue, profitability and business development targets.
  • Ensure deliverables and allocated projects comply with all policies, procedures and standards.
  • Undertake approximately 70% chargeable work and 30% non-chargeable tasks which may include business development, proposals, internal projects and development of staff.

 

The role is based in Seoul, South Korea, and you must have the right to live and work in South Korea. Flexibility to working hours, willingness to travel periodically and work within a variety of time zones.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related STEM field, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in renewable energy or offshore wind consultancy.
  • Proven experience managing various stages of renewable projects—from planning and construction to operation and decommissioning.
  • Strong technical expertise and subject matter knowledge across development, construction, and operational phases of renewable projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate projects independently, manage teams, and handle competing priorities effectively.
  • Excellent report writing skills and advanced proficiency in MS Office, including MS Project.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional networks.
  • Fluency in Korean (verbal and written) and good written and basic verbal communication skills in English.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, self-motivated, and skilled in identifying and resolving issues efficiently. 

Desirable:

  • Chartered membership or professional license in a relevant engineering discipline; project management certification (e.g. IPMA, PMI) is a strong advantage
  • Proven experience in construction, operation, and maintenance within structural, civil, naval, mechanical, or electrical engineering domains.
  • Skilled in managing technical due diligence, tendering processes, and subcontractor supervision, with a solid understanding of commercial aspects of consultancy.
  • Familiarity with contracts and agreements related to renewable infrastructure projects, and experience in business development with a strong client network
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, make sound decisions, and maintain a positive, adaptable project environment under changing conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, resilient, and hands-on approach to project execution and team management.
