We are currently seeking a highly motivated Jr. Subsea Cable Engineer to join our dynamic team in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. If you have a strong foundation in geotechnical or geophysical engineering and are eager to grow your career in offshore wind projects, we would love to hear from you. 

What will you be doing?

As a Jr. Subsea Cable Engineer, you will work as part of a team on engineering and consultancy projects for offshore wind farms and interconnectors. You will support project delivery, gain hands-on experience, and be mentored to develop your full potential. In addition you will also:

  • Support site investigation management and analysis related to cable installation, repair, and failure issues (e.g., scour, cable failures).
  • Assist Cable Project/Package Managers during live projects and contribute to cable route engineering, planning, and burial risk assessments.
  • Participate in R&D initiatives to help position the company at the forefront of subsea cable technology.
  • Contribute to the development of designs, specifications, tenders, and proposals, ensuring timely and quality delivery aligned with client expectations.
  • Prepare and interpret technical data, reports, and notes with increasing independence and accuracy, including advanced analytical work and database management.
  • Attend internal and external meetings, supporting senior managers and engaging with clients to promote company capabilities.
  • Ensure all project deliverables comply with company QHSE policies, procedures, and standards, while actively contributing to process improvements.
  • Maintain detailed logbooks documenting project progress and technical analyses, and support mentoring of junior colleagues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve moderately complex problems and deliver innovative engineering solutions.
  • Promote and adhere to health and safety regulations across all work environments, ensuring safe practices and compliance.

The position will be based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and you must have the right to live and work in Vietnam. Flexibility in working hours may be required. On-site attendance and client interaction are part of the role. Willingness to travel (including offshore) and work within a variety of time zones 

What are we looking for?

To thrive as a Jr. Subsea Cable Engineer, build strong technical knowledge of subsea cable systems and gain hands-on offshore experience. Stay proactive in learning, follow HSE standards, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, you will bring:

  • Degree qualification in Engineering or equivalent with significant related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • No work experience required – maximum of 4 relevant working years’ experience required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office package is mandatory. 
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software. 
  • Must have a good working knowledge of engineering principles and practices.  
  • Capability to select and apply standard guides, methods, and techniques.
  • Self-motivated, energetic and engaging  
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team 
  • Excellent presentation skills  
  • Proficient in Vietnamese.
  • Good interpersonal skills, a strong team player with pro-active approach   
  • Well organised, insightful and a self-starter  
  • Good communication skills and excellent report writing skills 
  • Attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy, and the ability to prioritise work
