Since 2006, Longitude Engineering, part of the ABL Group, has delivered independent design and engineering services in the marine, offshore renewables, oil & gas, defence, and offshore infrastructure markets. Our independence, expertise, and experience make us a natural choice for a wide range of design solutions across the Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America. We specialize in vessel and marine asset design and conversion, marine operations engineering, and energy transition engineering solutions.

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Piping Designer (AVEVA E3D) to join our offshore design team. If you’re passionate about collaborative engineering and offshore projects, we’d love to hear from you.

What will you be doing?

As a Piping Designer (AVEVA E3D), you will focus on technical drafting/modelling structures in the marine, offshore, and broader renewable energy spaces. This will include preparation of a 2D draft and a 3D model using AVEVA, Inventor and AutoCAD. In addition, you will also:

The scope of this role includes the following:

  • Create and modify 3D piping models using AVEVA E3D/PDMS/Marine based on P&IDs, layout drawings, and design specifications.
  • Perform routing of piping systems in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, structural, electrical) for model integration and clash resolution.
  • Generate piping isometrics, GA drawings, MTOs, and BOMs from the 3D model.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards.
  • Participate in design reviews, model walk-throughs, and clash detection meetings.
  • Support field teams during construction and commissioning as needed.
  • Update models based on site changes or design modifications.
  • Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, piping specifications, and engineering standards.
  • Knowledge of piping materials, valve types, supports, and fabrication practices.

The position will be based in Cebu, Philippines, and you must have the right to live and work in the Philippines. The role is office-based; however, the current policy in our Cebu office allows employees to work certain days from home, provided employees have reliable/stable high-speed connectivity and a suitable workstation at home.

What are we looking for?

To excel in this position, you will be an experienced and professional designer with demonstrable hands-on experience in the shipbuilding and offshore engineering sectors. Proficiency in Aveva E3D & AutoCAD (2D & 3D) is essential. Additionally, you will bring:

  • Degree-level qualification in engineering or similar technical studies.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English and adapt to the audience.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, Chemical, or Power Plant projects.
  • AVEVA-certified training or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience using AVEVA, Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience performing ship design (concept through detail engineering) and structural design of ships and other marine and offshore structures.
  • Experience serving in a QA/QC (drawing checking) function.
  • Highly proficient in Aveva E3D.
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • Demonstrated technical versatility.
  • Strong sense of professional ethics, integrity, and quality.
  • Ability to efficiently collaborate in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, both in person and remotely.
  • Ability to manage conflicts and negotiate difficult/conflicted situations.
  • Realistic and aware of one’s limits.

Desirable:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Familiarity with international design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.).
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, or Smart Plant is a plus.
  • Experience with design of piping, mechanical, and/or E&I.
  • Proficiency in Inventor & Rhino.
  • Site experience or field engineering exposure is advantageous.
