OWC offers a global service offering, focused on project development services, owner’s engineering, technical due diligence, and independent engineering. We have an unrivalled reputation for providing high-quality, innovative, and reliable solutions, drawing on extensive technical knowledge and practical experience which goes back to the late 1990s in offshore renewables.

As an integral member of our Solar team, you will provide Owner’s Engineer consultancy services to our clients. Your role will involve supporting developers and owners throughout the design, procurement, and construction stages of their projects. Ultimately, you will play a key part in ensuring that our client’s projects are delivered in line with their specifications, business objectives, financial targets, and design requirements.

What will you be doing?

  • Providing specialist advisory services and strategic guidance to clients on renewable energy projects, delivering within established timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Leading, planning, managing and executing Owner’s Engineer assignments such as supporting developers and owners through design, procurement and construction phases.
  • Undertaking analysis services for clients such as data and performance analysis and feasibility studies.
  • Managing project key performance indicators and budgets as well as teams to ensure optimal delivery of projects.
  • Leading or contributing to research and development projects, which may involve creating innovative engineering tools and solutions giving OWC a competitive edge in the PV market.
  • Maintaining relevant deep domain expertise and staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Providing technical support and leadership to technical teams, assisting in specialist domains and verification of deliverables to ensure quality.
  • Supervising, coaching and developing team members on projects and through separate mentoring.
  • Building and nurturing client relationships, supporting new business opportunities, leveraging networks and converting leads into contracts.
  • Leading the preparation of proposals aligned to business objectives, maintaining CRM data.
  • Sharing knowledge and experience to elevate OWC's consultancy capabilities, through internal / external training, thought leadership, etc.
  • Supporting OWC to achieve business KPIs such as revenue, profitability and business development targets.
  • Ensuring deliverables and allocated projects comply with all policies, procedures and standards.
  • Undertaking approximately 70% chargeable work and 30% non-chargeable tasks which may include business development, proposals, internal projects and development of staff.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a candidate with a solid background in providing Owner’s Engineer services during detailed design of EPC contractors, along with a proven history of supporting design reviews. Experience in delivering Lenders Technical Advisory (LTA) assignments or working as an Independent Engineer will also serve as a strong foundation for this role. More specifically, we are looking for the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree in an engineering topic or related STEM field. A master’s or PhD is advantageous.
  • At least 5 years’ experience of working in an engineering / renewables consultancy on Solar PV or renewable-related projects.
  • Experience in the development, construction and operation of renewables projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the development, construction and operational phase(s) of renewable projects.
  • A strong commercial background in engineering consultancy, with confidence in undertaking business development activities.
  • The ability to coordinate, direct and lead projects and work under own initiative with minimum supervision.
