What will you be doing?

As a Senior accountant, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring the accounting processes are organized and efficient to produce accurate and timely reporting as well supporting the business in operational requirements. In addition, you will also:

  • Manage full set of accounts (payables to payments, project set up to client collections, ledger reconciliations)
  • Manage the monthly accounts close and reporting process, variance analysis, profit and loss reviews with management
  • Support budgeting and rolling forecasts and cashflow forecasting
  • Prepare payroll, including submission of employment income taxes
  • Prepare payments to employees, freelancers and suppliers in a timely manner
  • Monitor unbilled revenue and receivables aging, ensure invoices are processed and debts collected in a timely and professional manner
  • Acting as business partner for in-country management on proposals and tenders
  • Liaise with auditor on year-end statutory accounts and schedules
  • Manager tax and corporate filing matters with tax agent and corporate secretary 
  • Manage junior staff and ensure staff are trained and up to date with finance system
  • Ensure the maintenance of financial files and records
  • And other duties as assigned

 The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and you must have the right to live and work in Malaysia. Flexibility to working hours from time to time.

What are we looking for?

To excel in this position, you will be FRS accounting knowledge. Additionally, you will bring:

  • Accounting Degree qualified or equivalent or Professional Certificate such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar position
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and BI data sets
  • Knowledge of NetSuite would be an added advantage
  • Experience in driving process improvement and efficiency
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Analytical, common sense and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Hands-on leadership and flexible team player willing to support coworkers
  • Strong customer service orientation when working with internal and external stakeholders
