The Project Engineer will undertake Owner’s Engineer (OE) or Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) assignments for our clients in the offshore energy industry. You will work on load-out and transport and installation projects, as well general marine and offshore operations such as heavy lift, towing, mooring and vessel inspections. 

What will you be doing?

  • Assist, or lead, OE or MWS projects and ensure that our clients receive a best-in-class service in accordance with agreed timeframes, costs and quality standards.
  • Undertake onshore and offshore attendances throughout Africa for engineering activities such as loadouts, float-offs, pipelaying projects, and more.
  • Undertake, or contribute to, the reviews of documents, design and procedures and calculations.  
  • Ensure that survey and technical reports are written and presented to clients within agreed timeframes and agreed quality standards. 
  • Ensure that all operations are conducted in full compliance with approved instructions, procedures and policies.
  • Assist with business development activities such as the preparation of tenders and proposals.
  • Contribute to the continual development of ABL Group’s business lines offered in the region. 
  • Always comply with ABL Group’s QHSE policies and procedures at ABL premises and on client sites. 

What are we looking for?

This position is suitable for an Engineer with experience of working on offshore O&G projects. More specifically, we are looking for the following:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant Engineering subject such as Structural, Mechanical, Civil, or Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture. 
  • 5 years’ worth of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of industry standards and codes and the ability to apply them. 
  • Fluent in English and French. 
  • Training or certifications relevant to offshore, marine, or energy operations is beneficial. 
  • Exposure to MWS, inspection, or assurance projects is desirable. We will be able to provide training in these areas. 

Further Information:

This position will be based in Dakar.

You must have the right to live and work in Senegal.  

The job holder will be expected to undertake onshore and offshore client assignments, potentially at short notice.
