Master Mariner

Working as a core member of our Vietnam team, you will undertake a wide variety of survey and consultancy assignments for our clients in the maritime and offshore sector. This could overseeing rig move operations, undertaking surveys on vessels, or conducting incident investigations, and more. 

What will you be doing?

• Undertake a wide variety of assignments ranging from vessel surveys to consultancy projects. 
• Establish causes of incidents, estimate repair and salvage costs, and prepare technical reports and recommendations for clients.
• Plan and coordinate surveys, including defining scope, deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements, and overseeing tasks to completion.
• Support the growth of offshore projects, working closely with the management team to expand capability and market presence.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to business development and ensuring high levels of service and client satisfaction.
• Ensure all work, operations, and reporting meet internal standards, procedures, and quality expectations.

What are we looking for?

• Master Mariner (STCW Class 1) certification, with experience of sailing at Chief Officer level as a minimum.
• At least 5 years’ worth of total seagoing experience, ideally gained on dry cargo or tanker vessels.
• Experience undertaking Marine Warranty Surveying and / or rig move operations is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with marine and engineering consultancy services within the offshore oil & gas market is advantageous.

Further Information:

This position can be based in Vung Tau or Ho Chi Minh City. You must have the right to live and work in Vietnam. 

The job holder will be expected to undertake onshore and offshore client assignments on a regular basis.
