As a key member of our team in Turkey, you will deliver a range of marine surveying and consultancy services, including hull and machinery, condition, and suitability surveys. Working on behalf of P&I Clubs, insurers, shipowners, and other maritime clients, you will conduct inspections, provide technical assessments, and support clients with expert advice across a variety of vessel types and marine operations.

What will you be doing?

  • Attend vessels, ports, shipyards, terminals, and offshore locations as required to undertake inspections and surveys.
  • Attend casualty investigations and determine the nature, extent, and probable cause of vessel damage or incidents.
  • Estimate the cost of repairs, providing clear technical recommendations and guidance to clients.
  • Produce accurate, timely, and high-quality survey reports and technical consultancy deliverables.
  • Develop a broad understanding of ABL's maritime consultancy services and contribute to the successful delivery of projects across the business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, supporting business development activities and promoting ABL's maritime services.
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals, technical submissions, and client presentations where required.
  • Maintain a billable utilisation level of at least 60% through effective management of assignments and workload.

What are we looking for?

  • Educated to degree level in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering or a related subject. 
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within the maritime industry, this could include experience working in a shipyard, consultancy or in a seagoing position. 
  • Demonstrated ability to produce accurate technical reports and deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines.
  • Broader offshore operational experience across a range of vessel, marine, or offshore energy projects.
  • Experience leading client-facing consultancy assignments and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Fluent in English.

This position will be based at our office in Istanbul. You must have the right to live and work in Turkey.
