Working as a core member of our ABL France team, you will manage a varied range of cable installation Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) and Owner Engineer (OE) projects. Partnering with our clients in the Renewables or Oil & Gas sectors, you will provide consultancy services such as document reviews for load-out, transportation and installation engineering activities. We contribute to projects such as the installation of subsea interconnector cables, fixed platforms, floating units, subsea structures, and fixed and floating offshore wind turbines.
What will you be doing?
- Manage full life-cycle cable installation MWS or OE projects from conception to completion.
- Function as the main point of contact with your client and be responsible for the management of project resources.
- Ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with the relevant technical standards, current industry codes, and client requirements.
- Undertake document reviews (procedure and analysis related to vessel survey, load-out, sea transportation, offshore installation) including spreadsheets and hand calculations.
- Propose and develop business development initiatives and contribute to the preparation of bids and tenders.
- Collaborate with other ABL Group offices and other technical disciplines on operational and specialist engineering topics.
What are we looking for?
Ideally, you will have proven project management skills and a background in transport & installation or methods engineering. You might also work in the Renewables sector, or you could be working in the Oil & Gas sector and looking to transition across. More specifically, we are looking for the following:
- Engineering degree in Naval Architecture, Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 6+ years of professional experience, including offshore work on construction vessels.
- Proven expertise in offshore transportation, installation engineering, and loadout methods.
- Strong knowledge of MWS, and industry standards and codes such as DNVGL-ST-N001.
- Fluent in both French and English.
- BOSIET or GWO certification. We can place you on a refresher course if you need to renew your certificate.
- Background of working in a consultancy environment and managing project budgets and schedules is beneficial.
Further Information:
The role is based at our office in Paris (21, Rue de la Fontaine au Roi, 75011), and you must have the legal right to work and reside in France.
While this position is office-based and we offer hybrid working, we are also keen to hear from candidates who live outside the Ile de France and can regularly visit our office.
You must be ready and willing to travel at short notice to onshore or offshore assignments locally or globally.
